    Ingredients

    • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 stick (1/2 cup) cold unsalted butter, cut up
    • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 2 Eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 cup buttermilk (or 2 tbsp white vinegar and 3/4 cup plus 2 tbsp milk)

    Method

    1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9-inch square pan with foil; coat foil with nonstick cooking spray. Prepare Topping: In a bowl, blend brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Work butter into flour mixture with your fingertips until crumbly. Refrigerate while preparing cake batter.
    2. Cake: Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside. Beat butter and sugar until smooth, 2 to 3 minutes. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Mix in vanilla.
    3. On low speed, beat in half the flour mixture, the buttermilk and then remaining flour mixture. Spread half the batter into prepared pan. Top with 1 cup of the topping, finely crumbling to cover batter. Top with remaining batter, spreading to cover topping. Crumble remaining 2 cups topping over batter.
    4. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 65 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack.

    • 2cups granulated sugar
    • 1cup butter, softened
    • 2 Eggs
    • 18 - ounce cartondairy Sour Cream
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
    • 2cups all-purpose flour
    • 1teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 2/3 cup chopped pecans
    • 2tablespoons packed brown sugar
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    • Sifted powdered sugar

    Method

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 10-inch fluted tube pan. Set aside.
    2. In a large bowl, beat sugar and butter with electric mixer on medium speed until mixture is light and fluffy. Add eggs; beat well. Beat in sour cream and vanilla just until combined.
    3. In a small bowl combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat into creamed mixture until combined. Pour half of the batter into prepared tube pan.
    4. In a small bowl stir together pecans, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the nut mixture on top of batter in pan. Carefully spread remaining batter on top of nut mixture. Sprinkle with remaining nut mixture; press lightly into batter.
    5. Bake in a 350 degreesF oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
    6. Remove cake from oven; cool for 5 minutes. Invert cake onto a serving plate. Cool 15 minutes more. Dust with powdered sugar. Serve warm or cool.

    2. Beat cake mix with coffee, oil and eggs in large bowl with mixer until blended; pour into 2 greased and floured 9-inch round pans.
